Mr. Thomas Rees-Crockford

Postgraduate Researcher

Department: Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering

I am from the Valleys of South Wales. I attended the University of Hull, where I completed my MPhys. My Project was on "Solar Flare Energetics" under the supervision of Dr. Sergei Zharkov. My project looked at estimating the white light energy emitted by an X2.1 class solar flare using the SDO/HMI continuum. As I greatly enjoyed the research aspects of the project, I decided to go on to do a Ph.D. in solar physics.
