City and Safety

Newcastle is a safe, student friendly city which has accessible transport links around town making it easy for your son or daughter to get around.

Your child can download the free SafeZone app for some piece of mind when travelling to and from university or when studying late. This app allows our campus security to access their location 24/7 if they are in need of support whilst out in Newcastle and on campus. Simply have them download the app from SafeZone or from the Apple or Android app store, create an account and select 'check in' to let security know there's still someone on campus.

We are partners with the likes of Newcastle City Council, Northumbria Police and other local businesses to talk about how we can improve the safety for your son or daughter.

Newcastle voted Best Place to Live in 2018 (The Rough Guide 2018)

I don't worry at all when my daughter is on campus, I know there's always someone at hand to help should she need it.
