The research aims to understand CPD based on the perspective and the role of the current approach to improving their competencies and capabilities.

The outcome of the research will provide the necessary CPD roadmap for the Libyan oil sector to up-skill and empower their engineers to actively lead and execute complex and high value engineering tasks.

An inductive theoretical approach for enhancing capabilities and improving competencies of skilled oil sector engineers will be conducted through semi-structured interviews to evaluate the existing oil sector CPD system. These interviews will use experienced (over five years) oil sector employees. These will include engineering supervisors, skilled engineers and engineering managers.
